Organise Your Own Home Game
There is no escaping the fact that poker is one of the most – if not the most – popular card games played all over the world. From the land-based casinos to the off-shore casinos to online casinos, poker reigns supreme. Yet ask people who play poker often which format of poker they prefer playing, a lot would probably say something about home games.
Even though you may be a newbie to poker, you would probably have already heard about home games. You probably even got your first taste of poker through a home game! A home game is basically a game or a tournament set up by a couple of people to be held at someone’s home. Pretty simple, huh? It has the advantages of being informal wherein you can set the rules as well as merely having a night of fun with friends.
So how do you set up your own home game? Of course the first thing would be to have your own equipment. The basics are a table, poker chips, and cards. Once you have these then you can have a rudimentary set up. If you want other stuff to improve the ambiance then by all means do so. Music, food, and lighting all make the evening better.
Now don’t forget to have an established set of rules for your home game. You can look up rules on the Net and then print them out or you can lay down the house rules yourself. The important thing is that everyone is aware of the house rules before play begins.
