WCOOP updates

Fittsy over at LearnPokerStrategy.com posted an update on his WCOOP. So far he’s not doing well, but hopefully if he keeps playing well the cards will start to fall his way!

Wil Wheaton has been posting live updated at CardSquad, a new pokerblog with lots of great bloggers posting several times a day.

I’ve been watching lately, Greg Raymer placed 31st last night in the NLHE event. Not bad for a former world champion…

Moneymaker has been playing poorly, not surprising though. He doesn’t seem to be a great player, just got a long rush of cards at the WSOP. Oh well, what can you do?

A few interesting things. Last nights WCOOP tournament lasted 15+ hours in one stretch! They did have 15 minute breaks but it wasn’t like you could take a break and take a nap. I mean personally it would have meant playing through the night into the wee hours of the morning, and I work a day job. That would have totally sucked. I would have had to call in sick to work. What would have sucked even more is to do well, but not well enough to cash. You know play until 4 or 5 AM and get knocked out just before making the money. I think that would have been the worst. Thankfully I wasn’t playing last night!

Secondly we’re talking online poker with 2000+ players. Some of whom one their way in from $5 satellites and whom are not good players. People who wild and may suck out on you. I think that is the case for a few of the professionals not placing very high.
