“I can’t win with AA”

I play in live tournaments now and then, in fact I prefer them, and I always hear people telling stories and sharing the worst beats imaginable with one another. It’s funny because in an attempt to out do each other someone inevitably talks about how they were all in with AA and lost to a 72o and it was the most incredible hand ever, it just goes on and on.

Then, naturally, someone mentions that they’d prefer they didn’t get AA because it’s so hard to play. It’s about this time that I want to yell at each person “You guys are idiots!”

If you can’t make money with AA then why the hell are you playing poker? You’re a favorite preflop every single time. If there are four to a straight or four to a flush on the board - it’s not that hard to fold AA. Why would you risk all your chips with AA? It’s no different than hitting a pair with AK - it’s just a pair.

I’ve seen people that don’t know much about poker win with AA without a problem.

I’m not going t detail the strategies behind playing AA effectively in a variety of different games, but please spare everyone at your table the boredom of going over the times you’ve lost with your pocket aces. We don’t care how stupid you are.

Every word is true in your post. People cannot play AA well, they insist on their card when it would be better to fold, and raise forever mostly in low limit games. An when they lost with it they shout everything on the others at the table…
AA has a bigger chance to win, but you have to play it correctly.
